Pretzels

Here’s a twist: celebrate National Pretzel Day Tuesday, April 26 at Bavarian Inn Restaurant
Michigan on Main Bar and Grill has a special deal

FRANKENMUTH, Mich.- April 19, 2015 – Dip them in mustard, stuff them with cheese, or enjoy them with a well-chilled pint of beer. There’s no denying that pretzels are one of America’s favorite snacks, with the average American consuming 1.5 pounds of these baked treats per year.

In observance of National Pretzel Day, Tuesday, April 26, the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is offering a beer and pretzel special at its Michigan on Main Bar and Grill. That day, guests can enjoy a large pretzel along with one of the bar and grill’s extensive selection of Michigan craft beers for just $7. Cheesy pretzels are available for only 50 cents more.

Last year the Bavarian Inn served more than 17,000 pretzels to its guests.

Here’s a “twisted tale:” National Pretzel Day originated in Pennsylvania when Governor Ed Rendell; whose state boasts an abundance of German family pretzel bakers; declared it an official observance in 2003.

Michigan on Main Bar and Grill inside the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is a casual and contemporary dining space showcasing Michigan-sourced food along with Michigan craft-brewed beers, Michigan wines and specialty Michigan cocktails.

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. – January 7, 2016 – Through its more than 30-year-old Company Giving Program, employees of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant have raised $20,856 for its 2015 chosen charity, the Michigan-based Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund.

The year-long campaign concluded last week and the grand total for fundraising was announced at a post-holiday employee team party on Jan. 4.

According to Kathy Walstad, chairperson of this year’s Bavarian Inn Company Giving Program, employees raised funds for the veterans’ charity through a Nov. 20 auction which raised $8,000, together with a holiday open house event, candy sales, voluntary payroll deduction, and other activities throughout the year.

Past charities aided by the Company Giving Program include Hospice of Hope, Special Olympics, Special Days Camp, and Saginaw Habitat for Humanity.

“Bavarian Inn Restaurant,” Walstad added, “has over 400 caring team members who give so generously each year to help those in need. We’re looking forward to an exciting year of giving in 2016.”
